Focus and Research groups are a great way to earn some extra cash and have fun along the way. Simply join up to all these sites All are FREE to join. The jobs are not that frequent. So the more you join the more jobs you will get. The companies will contact you via phone or email to see if you wish to participate in a "discussion". This could be product testing such things like chocolate, beer, soft drink, ice cream etc. it could be talking about government issues, hoses, tax, music or just about anything, you never know, until they contact you. You have nothing to lose, and they pay well. I did a music one that paid me $100 for 3 hours of my time listening to music. Another group paid me $70 for 90 mins to talk about the government. Or a subway testing group that paid me $75 to try the new meat that Subway were bringing out. I have yet to do a beer group, but i know they do them.
